MEMBERSHIP

WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER?

Any individual of good character is eligible for membership in the Association provided that the individual (i) meets all financial requirements of the National Association and the registered Chapter; and (ii) has been approved for membership by the Scholarship and Standards Committee.

Membership is open to all Issele by virtue of birth, marriage, ancestry, lineage to Issele parent(s), children of Issele parent(s), spouse, children of parent(s) that have lived in any of the Issele towns for a substantial period of time as to establish a nexus or affiliation or interest in Issele, and reside in North America.

“Issele” means Issele-Azagba, Issele-Mkpitime, and Issele-Uku combined.

Membership in the National Association shall not be denied or abridged to any person on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, or physical disability.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

The National Association shall consist of all duly registered members, who are financially in good standing, with both the National Association and, a Chapter, or members-at-large, or those exempted from payment as stated in the By-laws.

The categories of membership shall include:

HONORARY

An Honorary Member is a member duly initiated in recognition of her/his achieved distinction in a given field.

Honorary Membership

Any person of good character who has singularly achieved recognized national or international distinction in any field may be elected to Honorary Membership into the Association provided that he/she is (i) recommended by a Chapter(s) or individual member(s) to the Scholarship and Standards Committee; (ii) recommended by the Scholarship and Standards Committee to the National Executive Board; and (iii) approved by a majority vote of the National Executive Board.

An Honorary Member shall have all privileges of membership except those of voting and holding elected office.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

IANA Inc. Bylaw does not specifically discuss the role of volunteers in the Association; however, it is obvious that every successful non-profit organization benefits tremendously from the participation of volunteers.

IANA Inc., welcomes all those who wish to support its mandate in a volunteer capacity.

Volunteers can help during fundraising activities and other social events organized by IANA Inc. at National and Chapter levels.

Volunteers are extremely important during the implementation of projects in the Issele Towns

Volunteers may be required to go through some screening process.

Volunteers could be residents of North America or Nigeria.

IANA will recognize and acknowledge its volunteers at Chapter and National levels, and especially during its National Conventions.
