Excerpts from the National President’s Welcome Address 2014 IANA National Convention: “Since the formation of IANA, it has executed projects totalling $47,775 (N7,663,900.00) that touch the lives of Issele people in Nigeria.”

Excerpts from the National President’s write-up dated June 8, 2012 titled

“ABOUT US” , for the 2012 National Convention in Chicago:

“In the few years that IANA has been in existence, it has dedicated its energy and resources to executing projects that touch the lives of Issele people in Nigeria.. Some of the association activities include provision of desks and chairs for pupils, chairs and tables for teachers in the primary schools in Issele-Uku, Issele-Mkpitime and Issele-Azagba. In the years following, IANA built water tanks (wells) for nine primary schools in Issele-Uku, two primary schools in Issele-Azagba and one primary school in Issele-Mkpitime at the cost of approximately N3,532,500. Two large halls in two public secondary schools in Issele-Uku used for examinations, student assembly, and other large group activities were renovated at the cost of approximately N2,041,000. Most recently (2010), International Hope Canada, Inc., donated large number of medical equipment and supplies estimated at several million naira through two of our Canadian members. IANA paid N1,146,100 to ship the container to Lagos, Nigeria. The equipment and supplies are in the general Hospital, Issele-Uku, Delta-State.”

Excerpts from the National President’s Welcome Address 2004 IANA National Convention:

“In July 2002 we convened in Los Angeles, CA where once again we raised money that allowed us to begin our first development project, the Primary (Elementary) Schools School infrastructure.”

 “We as association accomplished our first development task at home with the money raised from both conventions. The Issele Association of North America, in 2002 within three weeks constructed 4 underground water tanks for 4 primary schools costing close to half a million naira. We  constructed chairs, tables and desks for teachers and their pupils for over a million naira all of which when converted to US dollars is approximately $15,000.”

Excerpts From National Presidential Welcome Address in 2018
“On May 18, 19 & 20, 2018, IANA executed its first medical mission, which was a 3-day FREE medical care at Issele-Uku General Hospital. 600-700 patients were anticipated; we treated over 1300 patients, handed out over 600 prescription glasses, and performed 15 surgeries. It was a wonderful and rewarding experience. A special thanks to the Chair of IANA Health Committee, Mr. Ngozi Azu, who helped to plan the medical mission and travelled from the US to Issele-Uku to help me in executing the medical mission.
Thanks also to Dr. Victor Azuh and his lovely wife, Dr. Mrs. Margaret Azuh, for their financial contribution towards the medical mission. To my brother, Dr. Michael Nwaesei, thank you for taking the time to fly in from New York to help with the medical mission in Issele-Uku. Our brother and IANA pioneer member, Mr. Ibe Ozoma, assisted tremendously throughout the planning and execution of the medical mission. A big thank you, Ibe Ozoma! I am truly grateful to all the volunteers, especially, Dr. Alex Awunor and his team of medical personnel from AMP Inc. who worked tirelessly to make the May Mission a reality.

Thanks to the “Diesel Man” (Chima Agi Monye), who informed me of the fully equipped new “Sickle Cell” wing of the General Hospital and the resident physician at Issele-Uku General Hospital (Dr. Onyekpe) for authorizing the use of the State of the art Sickle Cell facility for IANA medical mission. Unforeseen plumbing issues at the General Hospital would have jeopardized the medical mission, but Dr. Dai, Consultant from University of Benin Teaching Hospital, came to our rescue. Dr. Dai’s improvised bucket water approach made it possible for the doctors to perform 15 surgeries during the 3-day medical mission in Issele-Uku. Thank you, Dr. Dai for your ingenuity. IANA’s medical mission of May 2018 was featured on the News by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Thank you, HRM, Obi Nduka, MNSE, Obi of Issele-Uku for the dinner reception at the palace.
Based on the success of the medical mission in May 2018, IANA Board approved another medical mission for Saturday July 14, 2018 to Issele-Mkpitime and Sunday July 15, 2018 to Issele-Azagba. In collaboration with Dr. Awunor and his team from AMP Inc., we treated over 400 patients and handed out over 300 prescription glasses; it was another successful mission. Thank you, HRH, Obi Jideuwa Ijei II, Obi of Issele-Azagba, for the reception at the palace.”

Excerpts From the National Presidential Welcome Address in 2021
“In 2018 alone, IANA embarked on two (2) medical missions to Nigeria led by my predecessor (Mr. Vincent Nwaesei), Dr. Ngozi Azu, Dr. Iqwebuike Nwaesei where over two thousand (>2000) patients were served. In 2021, we pursued another medical mission led by me and our National Treasurer (Dr. Ngozi Azu) with over twenty three hundred (>2300) patients served including fifty-one (51) procedures in 3 days; all funded by IANA. These Although the pandemic may have slowed us down, it has not stopped us from our relentless efforts to make a difference in peoples’ lives. These efforts could not have been possible
without your financial contributions, and we are counting on you this time around to support us generously as you have always done.
